Aircraft Library: Get started instantly with a built-in database of common aircraft types. Select your type, enter your aircraft’s actual empty weight and CG from your weight and balance records, and you’re ready to fly. Can’t find your type? The Custom Aircraft Builder lets you define any aircraft from scratch — seats, baggage compartments, fuel tanks, de-icing fluid tanks, and CG envelopes — using data straight from your POH. You can also modify the properties of an aircraft from the library.
Accurate Weight & Balance: Enter passenger weights, baggage, and fuel quantities for every flight. The app calculates your total mass and CG position in real time, checking both the loaded CG and the zero-fuel CG against the certified envelope. Aircraft with multiple certification categories (Normal, Utility, Aerobatic) are fully supported — the app identifies the most restrictive envelope your loading falls within. For aircraft equipped with TKS or other de-icing systems, the envelope is plotted with and without de-icing fluid so you can see the full CG travel range.
Apple Watch: The companion Watch app puts weight and balance on your wrist. Swipe between Passengers, Baggage, Fuel, and Envelope screens, rotate the Digital Crown to adjust values, and get instant go/no-go feedback with haptic confirmation — without touching your phone. The Watch app syncs automatically with your iPhone whenever the apps are running.
PDF Export: Generate a professional weight and balance report with a single tap. The PDF includes an itemised loading table with masses, arms, and moments, your total takeoff mass and CG, and a scaled CG envelope diagram showing your loading point. Save it to Files, print it, or share it directly from the app.
iCloud Sync: Your aircraft and settings sync automatically across all your devices via iCloud. Add an aircraft on your iPhone and it appears on your iPad instantly. Loading data stays local to each device so changes on one device never interfere with what you’re entering on another.
Aircraft Sharing: Share any aircraft configuration as a .aircraft file — send it by email, AirDrop, or Messages. Recipients can import it directly into their own copy of Mass & Balance. Ideal for flying clubs and flight schools where members share the same fleet.
Flexible Units: Works in pounds or kilograms, and inches or centimetres. Switch units at any time — all values update immediately.
Fleet Solution for Organisations: Mass & Balance supports enterprise deployments for flight schools, flying clubs, and operators. Enter your organisation’s key in Settings to automatically download and sync your entire fleet. Aircraft data is kept up to date — when an aircraft is re-weighed, the updated data is pushed to all pilots the next time they open the app. No manual distribution of files required.
